Here are three ‘loop card’ exercises that I have used with my Year 10 GCSE Computing classes as a plenary to help reinforce their understanding of terminology. From the first set, I have added a few new words/phrases in each.

Print each set 2 per sheet and randomly hand out (1 between two works well if not enough for one each - if there are too many cards, you’ll need to re-organise them). I have them printed on card, but paper would be fine.

The pupil with the ‘start’ card reads their ‘question’ underneath, the other pupils have to see if they have the answer and read it out, followed by their question, and so on… until you reach the ‘stop’

It does take a while the first time through, but my classes are now trying to beat their best time and the best time of other groups.

Making sure you randomly hand out the cards does ensure that each pupil has to listen as they may not have had that card before.

Hope that makes sense, and I’m not sure why they are called ‘loop cards’ as they most definitely doesn’t loop!

This also puts a big fat ‘tick’ in the literacy box too!
